The essential choice for small size frames

Recommendations and advice:

Angle of inclination: between 7 and 12 degrees

Refraction: Far distance:
full correction in sphere and cylinder

Near distance:
addition value kept low due to the shortness, effectiveness and complete progression

Centration:
Measure monocular far and near PD

Horizontal centration:
Far reference point at centre of pupil at monocular far PD

Exception:
prism prescription: centring cross decentred by 0.25 mm per 1 prism diopter in the opposite direction of prism base

Vertical centration:
Minimum fitting height: 14 mm from far reference point up to bottom rim of the frame in order to ensure the widest near vision area

Freedom Of Expression

The average modern consumer may no longer exist, but there are certain characteristics that are shared by most buyers of glasses. They are critical, well informed, aware of what they require and have a wide interest in areas such as art, design and fashion. The constant wearing of just one pair of glasses is no longer an option for many people, and certainly not for those of a more creative and self confident nature. Such people enjoy expressing their personality and good taste at all times.

And their glasses are a superb way of doing just that. Sometimes they are looking to convey the right image in a business environment. On other occasions, the accent will be more on stylish nonchalance or indifference.
And if an element of daring is possible at times, all the better. The key is being able to adjust at will to meet the mood or situation.

Visual Comfort

With such diverse demands, the advice you give your more critical customers has to be carefully considered. He or she will want fashionable glasses, often with a small frame.

And of course they will expect multifocal lenses that offer added value when it comes to natural vision. The dichotomy has always been that multi-focus lens and small frames are contradictory requirements.

Until now that is, with the introduction by Hoya of Hoyalux Summit CD. This brand-new design accentuates the modern, while offering your customers fast assimilation and processing of visual information in one smooth movement. Hoyalux Summit CD combines trend setting freedom of expression with superb visual comfort.

A Short Progression Zone Without the Disadvantages

Today, most manufacturers strive for a shorter progression zone. The downside is that this automatically entails an increase in peripheral distortion and, in turn, slower image formation and processing. In addition, the interaction between far and near vision is less than satisfactory. And, due to the lack of a wide transition zone, a ‘jumping’ effect is created from distant to near.

Advanced Vertical Progression

In a normal zone, the reading segment
is cut away. Hoyalux CD offers in
contrast a complete reading segment.

Thanks to Reduced Vertical Progression
Hoyalux Summit CD can be fitted in
small, modern and trendy frame

Hoyalux Summit CD brings a definitive end to these problems. At just 11 millimetres, its progression zone is shorter than ever before. The result is an uninterrupted interaction between the different fields of vision.

The short energetic progression

A short progression zone and a fast progression build-up have another benefit: thanks to the complete addition power, the prescribed addition value can be kept at a minimum.

Integrated View Area
Unnoticeable interaction… assured comfort

The Integrated View Area of Hoyalux Summit CD prevents any change of a ‘jumping effect’ between distance and near visual fields, guaranteeing a natural interaction, while fully compensating for the accommodation shortage.

One of the most remarkable features of the Hoyalux Summit CD concept is the Integrated View Area concept. This brings far, intermediate and reading vision fully in balance to form one whole. Thanks to advanced 3D calculation techniques, the intermediate zone has a wide perspective and the interaction from far to near is uninterrupted.

The result is that visual perception is processed in a 100% natural way, while the intermediate zone takes care of the vast majority of the compensating and correction required for perfect near vision. The integrated action of intermediate and reading vision makes the Hoyalux CD an exceptionally effective and functional lens

Perfect Balance

The Summit 3D simulation system visualises the output of every basic curve and addition range, while the variable ‘inset’ system keeps the natural convergence intact. And, thanks to the exceptionally precise calculation technology, the outcome in practice is absolute accuracy when it comes to meeting your customers’ needs. With Hoyalux Summit CD , your reputation as a trusted advisor is sure to be reinforced.

This high-grade calculation system balances the various distances and the related correction. However, something extra is still required to achieve the perfect visual perception.
The visual images in the viewing point of the right and left glass must exactly overlap. With the compact design of a short-zone multi-focal glass such as the Hoyalux CD, everything depends on having an accurate distribution of the different correction fields for each of the distances.

A minimal space of just 14 mm. is required between the fitting reference point and the bottom rim of the frame and 10 mm to the upper rim. Thanks to Reduced Vertical Progression and the Integrated View Area technology, you can now offer your customers Hoyalux Summit CD multifocal lens in small, trendy and modern glasses.

The far, intermediate and reading areas of the Hoyalux Summit CD design are in perfect balance with each other. As a result, peripheral distortion is negligible. And, for the first time, concepts such as ‘fashion’ and ‘natural vision’ are now included in one pair of glasses.
